CHRISTMAS DREAM DINNER

This program started over two decades ago to provide a Christmas Dinner and time with others on Christmas Day for both those who can’t afford to provide one themselves, or might be spending Christmas Day alone.

This past year the meal was prepared by Volunteer Chefs and the curbside pick-up of the meals was coordinated by Welcoming Arms and our partner The Salvation Army at the Royal Canadian Legion. We are grateful to the Aurora Community Volunteers for coordinating this, and for all of those that gave of their time. We all hope that next year we can go back to our regular sit-down meal.

CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Welcoming Arms, in partnership with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, provides special Christmas assistance to Bridging the Gap visitors (families and individuals). Gifts consist of PC grocery gift cards, hot chocolate/tea/coffee, holiday cookies and chocolates. Providing our visitors with this type of gift package allows them the opportunity to shop with their families, selecting their own holiday groceries and gifts. We are also grateful to the Aurora Minor Hockey Association, Harvey’s / Swiss Chalet, and Sobey’s for providing in kind and financial assistance that goes directly to each of our visitors.
