Welcome Table is a drop-in community dinner that operates every Wednesday out of Trinity Anglican Church (79 Victoria St, Aurora) at 5:30 pm, providing a hot meal 51 weeks of the year! Joy Marshall coordinates this incredible program and she is supported by more than 100 dedicated volunteers in a variety of roles– Servers, Security, Friends, Chefs, Sous-Chefs, etc.
For more than 14 years, Welcome Table has been providing a safe space, food and fellowship to more than 100 guests each week. This includes about 15 children and 20 seniors.
The last week of 2017 ended off with our annual Christmas Dinner with a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings (turkey, stuffing, potatoes, veggie medley, cranberry, gravy, salad). For desert we had an amazing array of Christmasy desserts donated by our volunteers. We had a theme of trifle and Christmas cookies… VERY yummy!
The room looked very festive with trees on every table and Christmas serviettes. We also had the festive music to keep everyone in the spirit! Even the volunteers looked festive with interesting head gear! The evening was finished off with each guest receiving a small gift.
